144 MHz AFS 2017

A record fifty three clubs took part with a total number of 62 teams entered from those clubs.

Conditions were considered flat by most with ODX going to GW3TKH/P for the QSO with DK0MM at 859km.

The leading stations in each section had between 2-3% errors in their logs. There were several perfect logs submitted but there were quite a few with errors greater than 10%, the highest noted was a 50% loss rate.

Well done to Camb-Hams 'A' team for coming 1st and winning the G3MEH Trophy.

Bristol CG 'A' are runners up again this year though with a narrower gap than last year.

In the individual sections congratulations go to:

  • G5PI/P (operated by G3UUT and G4NBS) for second place in the Open Section;
  • Dom, 2E0WHQ/P as the leading intermediate entrant in the Open section;
  • Mark, M6OME/P as the leading foundation entrant in the Open section;
  • Keith, G4ODA for winning the SF section for the third year running;
  • Fred, G4BWP for second place in the SF section;
  • Phil, 2E0DGP as the leading intermediate entrant in the SF section;
  • Brian, MM6POV as the leading foundation entrant in the SF section;
  • Roger, M0OMB as the leading fixed station running 25 watts or less into a single antenna;
  • Mike, F4VRB as the leading non-UK station in the Open section;
  • Frank, PE1EWR as the leading non-UK station in the SF section.
